These metals are, or are essentially, Lead-Free in that they contain less than 1% Lead by weight. It fits properly in the tight for .50 caliber .493/.496 bore diameter that this airgun has. The interface between the pellet and the bore is accomplished by the use of two Buna-N rubber O-Rings (also Lead-Free) resting in precision-machined grooves. In .500/.510 bore diameter .50 caliber airguns such as the AirForce Texan, it will be too loose. The .80 length of this pellet will fit properly in the loading port of the Seneca Dragon Claw. The precision CNC Lathe-machined .472/.474 diameter outer aluminum body does not contact the rifle bore. The O-Rings flex and conform to the bore and rifling, and impart spin to the pellet. This allows the aluminum nose to deform upon impact with hard objects (however-you should still avoid shooting at hard surfaces!). This pellet was specifically designed for use in the Seneca Dragon Claw PCP airgun. Instead of Lead, this pellet consists of an outer shell made of 6061-T6511 Aluminum. To help decrease the chance of ricochets, the pointed nose of the pellet and the flat front of the steel core create an inner void (see photo). It has an inner screw-in core made of 1215 Steel, which adds weight to the pellet. PELLET WEIGHT: 145 grains This is the threshold used by the state of California for a pellet to be considered Non-Lead, which is in the same category as Lead-Free in that state and most regions.
